ACONFERENCE focusing on protecting our environment and natural resources will take place early next year. The second conference on environment, entitled Environment and Water Resources … for Our Future, is organised by the Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research (BCSR) in co-operation with the Japanese Petroleum Co-operation Centre. BCSR board of trustees chairman Dr Mohammed Al Ghatam said the conference aims to provide an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and information among scientists from Bahrain, the GCC and Japan on water and environment.

He said it would also focus on ways to implement new technologies to manage these resources. The conference will cover four main topics. They are the sustainability of oil and gas industry, protecting environmental and water resources, weather changes and global warming and future vision ofwater, energy and the environment. Japan, Bahrain and GCC representatives will present papers at the event to be held from February 8 to 10 at avenue to be announced later. The organising committee, headed by BCSR information and publication department head Dr Mohammed Al Ansari, also comprises Japanese Petroleum Co-operation Centre technical co-operation head Makoto Nakamora and BCSR water studies expert Dr Nader Al Masri.
